Re: When Dr. Gates says ...
Fairly rare that two drugs in the same therapy area will be vastly different in terms of efficacy or side effects these days, when patients expect low side effects from almost all medicines, and it is rare to get any agent with vastly better efficacy than another. Head to head trials do take place, but they are often of limited value as more often than not they just show equivalence between different agents.

Manufacturers will therefore usually fully exploit the differences between the indications of different drugs. A good example was the SSRIs (anti-depressants) when they were actively marketed. These all had subtly different indications so while one might have been promoted for people suffering with agitation and anxiety linked depression, another was targeted at those suffering low mood. Doctors understood this and would often use different products depending on the exact nature of the problem the patient in front of them had.

Sometimes one drug will suit one individual whereas it might be the opposite for someone else. The reasons for this are rarely clear.

Re: When Dr. Gates says ...
Early on in this thing, the first vaccine producers agreed to have a comparative element in the trials.

Normally, drug companies avoid this like, er, the plague, because if drug A doesn't perform spectacularly well, they can still flog it using marketting.

But if drug A is shown to be worse than drug B, then marketting drug A is a bigger job.

Be interesting to see if they keep their word.

Speaking of vaccines, here's a funny random thing sent to me with the tagline

"This is exactly what I expected someone stupid enough to take this dangerous rushed out vaccine would like."

Look at his stupid fucking face
https://twitter.com/CarolineCoramUK/status/1285324459109486593
Highlight was the polite enquiry about the placing of the vaccine shot, which of course was unanswered by the stupid faced virtue signalling automaton

"Caroline Coram@CarolineCoramUK

Interesting because the location is not one you would have as a vaccine but more likely a blood draw... please explain"

For the eagle eyed types who happen to notice these things here's the stupid faced drone's personal avatar

New vaccines take years of testing

I’m pro vax for vaccinations that have been tested for years

I’m anti vax for those that have been rushed into production, will benefit big pharma by billions and will be mandated to the people.

That’s where I stand. I’ll happily forgo a foreign holiday for a couple of years if they ban playing without it. When I’ve seen it run through a population and the effects in child birth etc I’ll think again.

How many occupations are available to 85 year old tin foil hat wearing conspiracy nut jobs anyway. Roland?

Darby_ 7:14 Sun Jul 26
Re: When Dr. Gates says ...
I doubt that will happen, Ronald0. You only need 80-90% of people to get the vaccine to create herd immunity, and the anti-vaxxer kooks make up far less than 10-20% of the population.

Yes, I did think of that myself, as clearly stated in the OP.

However, it is NOT simple, as you put it. If it were I'd let the rest of you get on with it without any comment from me.

Pressure will be brought to bear on people prepared to take a stand.
For example, you won't be allowed to go here or there unless your 'vaccine passport' shows you as compliant.
Certain occupations will be identified as 'no vaccine, no job'.
My occupation is likely to be one of those.

So, not as simple as you appear to believe.

I can just imagine GO bumping along famously with the new influx of Jews on Canvey Island, joyously pinning money on spinning newlyweds as they dance around Kings caravan site, the very picture of how all religions can rub along nicely in peace and mutual tolerance.

Actually though, the kids of Canvey look like their parents already dodged the MMR vaccine and hopefully learned from their mistakes.

Maybe we can set up some sort of covid colony where all the people who won’t Sign up for a vaccine can go live until they have all developed immunity.

Canvey island perhaps.

Re: When Dr. Gates says ...
Here's a thing Ant, don't want to take a vaccine? Don't fucking take one then. Simple.

For someone so much more switched on than the rest of us sheep I'm pretty surprised you didn't think of that yourself.

Or do you REALLY think 'they' (whoever the fuck they are) are literally going to hold you down and inject your 'cold, dead arm'?

You can sit at home cleaning your gun and that's great news for the rest of us as it's going to mean a shorter queue at the local surgery for the likes of sheep like me.

"I don’t think his own words were that he wanted to reduce the world population by killing 1.5 billion people."

Those weren't MY words either.

"I mean, if you're going to use his own words then you should probably use the words he actually said."

Without quoting exact word for word, that's essentially what I did, but I appreciate the irony of that comment.
